Job Description

We are seeking a talented Solicitor to join our Taxation team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in indirect tax and a strong background in stamp duty and GST.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver timely, commercially focussed and cost effective advice to clients on tax issues arising from transactions, including disposal and acquisition of businesses and entities.
  • Work closely with colleagues in other practice groups to develop a detailed knowledge of client needs.
  • Report to Leah Ranie, a tax partner who advises major Australian and multinational clients on stamp duty and GST aspects of M&A and structured real estate and infrastructure transactions.
">Requirements
  • Recognised indirect tax experience, including some stamp duty experience, gained in a similar environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and research skills to deliver prompt and commercially astute advice.
  • Strong commitment to client service and well-developed relationship management ability to play a key role in supporting and actively developing relationships with clients.
  • Team focus to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Enthusiasm to be involved in business development activities, presenting at industry related programs and managing strategic relationships and networks.
  • First rate experience of drafting documents, including opinions, letters of advice, information memorandums, agreements etc.
