Technical Support Specialist Opportunity

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to fill the role of Technical Support Specialist in our dynamic engineering team. This position offers a unique chance to work with cutting-edge technologies, including Linux-based infrastructure and applications.

About the Role
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software.
  • They will maintain close working relationships with our Field, Support and product engineering teams.
  • Participation in upstream communities is also expected.
  • Responsibilities include developing bug fixes, backport patches, and working with upstream for inclusion.
  • The candidate will review code produced by other engineers.
  • Good judgment in technical methods and techniques is essential.
  • Prioritizing work and managing time effectively against priorities is crucial.
  • Participation in team discussions to improve processes, tools, and documentation is required.
  • Maintaining clear, technical, and concise communications is vital.
Requirements
  • A strong understanding of Linux and open source software is necessary.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently are required.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker/LXC/LXD), storage (Ceph and Linux filesystems), networking (OVS, OVN and Core networking), OpenStack, Kubernetes, and open source applications is desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
