Assistant Director of Landscape Architecture

Overview

GHD Design, a global design company, is committed to environmental sustainability.

The landscape architecture team delivers innovative designs that create a sense of place. They focus on major transport infrastructure, precinct revitalisation, large-scale public realm, and public open space projects.

This diverse position involves design leadership, project management, and administrative functions to ensure efficient operation and successful delivery of high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Providing strategic direction across multidisciplinary and landscape projects.
  • Leading the landscape design for major infrastructure and development projects.
  • Developing design excellence across the landscape architecture portfolio.
  • Serving as project lead, managing day-to-day operations.
  • Leading the development of landscape architectural design from masterplans through to construction.
  • Fostering a collaborative team culture, mentoring staff, and building relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban Design, with 10+ years' experience in leadership roles.
  • Understanding of Australian planning policy and legislation.
  • Experience in GIS, AutoCAD, and REVIT desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in team leadership, project delivery, and client relationship management.
  • Strong communication skills and passion for design excellence.
  • Commitment to mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
