Electrical Fitting Apprenticeship Job Summary

This apprenticeship is designed for individuals who are passionate about electrical work and want to develop their skills in a real-world setting. As an Electrical Fitting Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work with leading industrial electrical and automation systems.

The role involves learning to work with switchboards, understanding lockout/tagout procedures, interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and assisting qualified fitters with installations, modifications, and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cutting, drilling, and preparing panels and enclosures.
  • Mounting switchgear, circuit breakers, relays, meters, and other devices.
  • Basic wiring and cable termination under supervision.
  • Labelling and identifying components and wiring correctly.
  • Observing and gradually performing basic wiring and assembly tasks.
  • Keeping a tidy workshop and general housekeeping duties

Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency with the right to work in Australia.
  • Minimum completion of Year 12 High School.
  • Driver's License and reliable transport.
  • Aptitude for maths and science.
