Senior Category Strategist

Job Summary: A high-profile opportunity has arisen to lead the development and execution of a strategic category management plan. This pivotal role will shape our global procurement strategy across key indirect categories, driving value creation and cost optimisation.

About the Role:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy aligned with business priorities.
  • Take ownership of sourcing, commercial negotiations, and programme optimisation for Professional Services, HR, Travel, and Contingent Labour.
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior business leaders, identifying emerging business needs and shaping sourcing plans accordingly.
  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, ensuring strong source-to-contract governance.
  • Deliver cost savings, productivity improvements, and value creation outcomes across the EBS portfolio.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to a high-performing team, championing a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with GSA leadership on planning, sourcing, budgeting, and performance tracking initiatives.
  • Travel internationally to engage with stakeholders and suppliers in various regions.

Requirements:

  • 5–10 years of procurement leadership experience with deep expertise in Professional Services, HR, Travel, and Contingent Labour.
  • Demonstrated track record in delivering cost savings, driving supplier performance, and optimising sourcing strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, category management, and procurement best practices with global exposure.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills across diverse functions and geographies.
  • Proven experience in managing complex contracts, supplier negotiations, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong commercial acumen, governance awareness, and change management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Accounting (or equivalent). MCIPS, ISM preferred.
  • Familiarity with contingent workforce technologies and solutions is highly desirable.
