About the Role

This is a client-facing and technical underwriting position that offers growth opportunities, development of underwriting skills, and personal branding with clients.

You will work as part of a diverse team in a global leading organisation, collaborating with experienced professionals to achieve targets and guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and manage regional and national clients across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific;
  • Perform underwriting, costing, referral, and pricing tasks for treaty business in property and casualty using proprietary tools and models;
  • Collaborate with offshore modelling/actuarial teams for analysis, validation, peer review, and broader underwriting input;
  • Contribute to client/broker interactions, manage client relationships, and work with cross-functional teams to progress treaty renewals and develop new business opportunities;
  • Assist with strategic initiatives, including ad-hoc projects and portfolio deep dives, stakeholder requests, client audits, reviews, and monitoring of portfolio performance.

About You

  • You should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, able to build rapport with colleagues and stakeholders quickly;
  • An inquisitive mind, strong growth mindset, and the desire to contribute proactively, take on responsibility, and deliver to a high standard;
  • Experience in (re)insurance, consulting, or broking is preferred;
  • An analytical mindset and familiarity with common tools, techniques, and processes used to assess and quantify risk;
  • A university degree in an analytical discipline such as actuarial science, finance, mathematics, business, econometrics/economics is highly regarded;
  • Strong presentation and communication skills are essential.

The P&C Team comprises Client Managers and Client Underwriters who drive Swiss Re's engagement with clients in the ANZ market.
