The role of a Visual Arts Faculty Head is to lead, coordinate and manage all aspects of teaching and learning in the faculty. This includes the implementation of new courses and programs.

As a senior educator, you will be responsible for ensuring students undertaking courses within the faculty are academically challenged and stimulated in a safe, inclusive and compassionate learning environment.

Key duties include:

  • Fulfilling the responsibilities of a teacher
  • Providing an academically challenging, stimulating and safe environment for students to succeed and flourish
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues to develop and deliver engaging programs of inquiry
  • Demonstrating an understanding of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme and/or a strong willingness to engage in IB professional learning
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Supporting student engagement in the service learning program(s) of the school
  • Teaching an adjusted load of classes as determined by the needs of the timetable
  • Attending all identified assemblies, sporting carnivals, meetings and professional learning days
Key Qualifications and Experience

Appropriate educational qualifications/Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject area, and current NESA registration

Demonstrated experience in, or an understanding of, the International Baccalaureate Programmes

A commitment to the school's varied programs (academic, wellbeing, service, co-curricular etc.) including an advocacy for the International Baccalaureate Programme/s, both within and beyond the school
