Job Title:

Machinist and Tool Designer

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our engineering team as a Machinist and Tool Designer.

This role involves testing and building test apparatus, collaborating closely with other teams on plant maintenance, and ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety policies.

The ideal candidate will have experience in machining skills, including operating various toolroom equipment such as Lathe, Surface Grinder, CNC mill, Bandsaw, Wire EDM, and EDM. They will also design and make tools for manufacturing in various materials, including plastic injection moulds, diecast metals (zinc and aluminium), aluminium extrusion tooling, press tooling, pressure die casting, and special purpose machinery for manufacturing systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing CAD models of parts and tool designs and creating drawings of the same. They will communicate design ideas through various CAD/CAM tools and analysis tools.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and manufacture tools for manufacturing
  • Operate various types of machinery, including Lathe, Surface Grinder, and CNC mill
  • Produce CAD models and drawings
  • Communicate design ideas through CAD/CAM tools and analysis tools
  • Comply with Health and Safety policies

Requirements:

  • Trade qualified in Australia
  • Australia work authorization

Work Environment:

This is an in-person role located in Sydney, AU.
