Job Summary:

AFL Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patent Administrator/Patent Assistant to join our client's winning national Engineering/ICT team. As a valued member of the team, you will provide administrative support to two outstanding patent attorneys, assisting with the protection, commercialisation, and enforcement of intellectual property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Prepare and proof-read various correspondence and documents, upload documents, and maintain accurate information on client portals.
  • IP Australia Liaison: Liaise with IP Australia for document productions, lodgements, and amendments.
  • General Administration: Perform general administration tasks, including diary management, arranging travel and meetings.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a legal secretary/administrator/'career' paralegal in any area of law, including intellectual property (preferably patents).
  • Skills: Highly competent in Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook), with a fast typing accuracy (minimum 55wpm).
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record as a team player.
  • Accuracy and Deadline Management: High accuracy and ability to effectively meet deadlines.
