AG Mechanic Role Overview

The AG Mechanic plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of agricultural equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine safety inspections to identify malfunctions or faults in equipment/vehicles.
  • Carry out work as per repair order instructions, adhering to strict timelines and quality standards.
  • Document all work performed, including cause and correction, and recommend additional work not carried out during service and repair.
  • Stay up-to-date with factory and service bulletins to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with parts departments to obtain necessary parts.
  • Participate in dealership and service department meetings, as well as online training sessions when requested.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate effective listening skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of OH&S principles.
  • Meet deadlines and deliver results under pressure.
  • Be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Hold a Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Bring a minimum of 3 years' experience in agricultural machinery repairs and maintenance.
  • Be proficient with computerized diagnostic equipment and relevant software systems.
