About the Job:

We're seeking a talented Data Architect Lead to join our team. As a key member of our data platform team, you'll lead the design of data models and contribute to the development of a foundational data platform for a greenfield project. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, architects, and business analysts, to develop scalable data models that drive business analytics and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Data Model Design: Develop efficient, scalable data models that align with business requirements and performance objectives.Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure data models meet business and analytical needs.Documentation: Document data models, data mappings, and detailed designs to support clear communication and future reference.ETL Process Optimization: Optimize data models and ETL processes to enhance performance and reduce latency in data operations.Design and Implementation: Design, build, and manage ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, PySpark, and stored procedures for seamless data transformation and loading.Data Governance: Implement and maintain data governance practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with security standards.Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, ensuring compliance with technical standards and maintaining high-quality outputs.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Deep Expertise: Expertise in designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models, utilizing techniques such as Kimball dimensional modelling.
  • Data Technologies: Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable data models within robust platform architectures.
  • Programming Skills: Hands-on experience with data technologies like Apache Spark, dbt (data build tool), stored procedures, and Azure Data Factory for seamless data integration and transformation.
  • Data Governance Strategies: Strong knowledge of data governance strategies to maintain data quality, consistency, and security across platforms.
  • Advanced SQL Skills: Advanced SQL skills for complex querying, data analysis, and integration across diverse systems.
  • Azure DevOps and Terraform: Experience with Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Docker for automating deployment and ensuring efficient operations.
  • Python and Shell Scripting: Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for process automation and scripting tasks.
  • Event-Driven Architectures: Experience in event-driven architectures and job orchestration for managing and automating complex workflows.
