Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Unit Manager to oversee surgical admissions at Lenah Valley Hospital and Day Surgery. The successful candidate will lead a team of dedicated and experienced nurses, managing the Pre-Admission Clinic, Discharge Planner, and Cardiac Liaison Nurse teams.

Location: Lenah Valley, TAS, Australia 7008.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote quality customer service and excellence in patient care by providing exceptional care and support to patients, families, and staff.
  • Provide leadership and implement clinical and operational strategies in alignment with the local service plan, driving excellence in patient outcomes and staff engagement.
  • Uphold and promote a culture of safety, quality, and compassion, aligning with the values of our organisation.
  • Manage human, material, and financial resources effectively, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimising waste.
  • Develop and advance the clinical specialty as a centre of excellence, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Recent clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting, with a strong understanding of healthcare systems and processes.
  • Ability to work independently, proficiently, and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity, prioritising tasks and managing competing demands.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, building strong relationships with colleagues, patients, and families.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with a focus on empathy, active listening, and clear expression of ideas.
  • A desire to contribute to a team committed to delivering exceptional patient care and experiences, with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
