Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Software Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to work on a long-term project that will move a large Java monolith to a Microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in technical domains and be able to promote the latest software development practices and tools.

The role involves working with a talented team to deliver software within a scrum framework, ensuring alignment to the technical strategy. You will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and tested code, as well as maintaining and interpreting technical documentation.

This is a challenging role that requires strong analytical, design, and problem-solving skills. You will need to be able to identify, debug, and resolve bugs with minimal guidance, and effectively communicate with peers and business stakeholders in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create high-quality code that meets technical and business requirements.
  • Deliver software within a scrum team while ensuring alignment to the technical strategy.
  • Maintain and interpret technical documentation.
  • Identify and implement technical improvements to solutions.
  • Ensure code is written to specification, is secure, resilient, and achieves desired business outcomes.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise development of scalable backend Java systems.
  • Commercial experience in implementing Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Python, Restful APIs, Microservices, and distributed architecture.
  • Build, test, and dependency management tools.
  • Modern database design and technologies.
  • Experience with modern security principles and technologies.
