Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and qualified Strategic Planners to deliver transformative projects that shape the future of our community.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with council teams, external stakeholders, and the community on a wide range of planning and development matters, making a real impact on how our city evolves.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and assessment of planning proposals to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Coordinating the assessment of scoping proposals to inform decision-making processes.
  • Undertaking reviews of Development Control Plans (DCPs) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Preparing detailed masterplans that balance competing interests and priorities.
  • Heritage planning to preserve and protect cultural heritage assets.
  • Contributing to infrastructure strategies that support growth with appropriate services and facilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A degree in Town Planning or industry equivalent qualifications, demonstrating strong theoretical knowledge.
  • Experience in strategic planning, with added value in heritage or recreation planning, showcasing adaptability and creativity.
  • Skillful preparation of detailed strategic planning documents and/or masterplans, highlighting technical expertise.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritizing effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear expression of ideas and concepts.
