Job Opportunity for a Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at our Olympic Dam site. This is a unique opportunity to work on general carpentry works and related duties safely, to quality and time specifications and standards.

Responsibilities of this role include :

  • Evaluate and execute Carpentry works in compliance with relevant Australian Standards, BCA, Local Ordinances, and other applicable codes and standards.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
  • Plan layouts, prepare materials, and assemble components.
  • Erect frameworks and roof framing.
  • Install fascias panels, sheathe roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding, doors, and window frames.
  • Maintain and repair existing timber, materials, and fittings.
  • Complete 1st and 2nd fix carpentry requirements.
  • Implement formwork installation.
  • Deliver work professionally and within designated timeframes.
  • Ensure all work complies with WHS requirements.
  • Use materials, labour, plant, and equipment efficiently.
  • Maintain a full tool kit for effective duties execution.
  • Perform administrative tasks accurately and promptly.
  • Operate vehicles, plant, and equipment properly.
  • Undertake other reasonable tasks within your skills and abilities as directed.

Essential Skills & Qualifications :

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry.
  • Willingness to work extended shifts on a rotating roster.
  • Experience in residential, commercial, and industrial maintenance and building.
  • Working at Heights certification.
  • Previous experience in similar roles.
  • Construction Induction (Whitecard).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Class C driver's license.
  • Willingness to work at other locations if required.
  • Additional high-risk tickets and licenses are advantageous.
