About the Team

YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) offers a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for children before and after school. Our programs include activities such as cooking, sports, music, arts, and dance.

With over 40 years of experience, YMCA Brisbane's childcare services have been integral to Australian communities, focusing on the holistic development of children.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Coordinator to support our team at the YMCA Kedron Outside School Hours Care (OSHC).

This role is a permanent part-time position, with weekly hours varying between 34.5 during school terms and 38 during vacation periods.

YMCA Kedron Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) provides a nurturing environment that fosters learning and play. We are dedicated to being an integral part of the local community.

Our service operates Before School Care, After School Care, and Vacation Care, catering to a diverse group of children with a focus on nutritious meals tailored to their needs.

We implement programs that align with the YMCA mission, promoting growth in body, mind, and spirit through engaging activities that encourage community, leadership, and social skills.

About the Role

In this role, you will assist the Service Coordinator in managing daily operations and leading a team of Educators. You will benefit from the support of a dedicated management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing quality programs;
  • Overseeing daily program operations;
  • Assisting the Coordinator with staff management;
  • Ensuring compliance with policies;
  • Handling administrative tasks;
  • Collaborating with families and the community.

Are You a Good Fit?

  • You are pursuing or have completed a relevant qualification in Childcare or Teaching (minimum Diploma in Children Services);
  • You have experience in program assistance and a passion for quality childcare;
  • You are skilled in maintaining effective administration and documentation in an OSHC or similar setting;
  • You possess excellent customer service abilities;
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • You bring creativity and enthusiasm to your work;
  • You hold or are willing to obtain current First Aid and CPR certification;
  • You have a Positive Notice Blue Card or are willing to obtain one;
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF) is desirable.
