The Role of a Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven individual to play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessel fleet.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to Vessel Engineers regarding vessel operations, maintenance, refits, and management.
  • Supervise and coordinate vessel repairs and maintenance, including shore-side labor appointments.
  • Oversee workshop staff and contractors in daily maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in supervising vessel dry docking processes.
  • Generate engineering-related purchase requisitions and purchase orders, vetting and approving for best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).
  • Plan maintenance and contractor activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with service providers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of NSCV/USL/RAV & Class legislation requirements.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role within the Marine Industry.
  • Marine Engineering or Trade Qualification with some marine experience.
