A key role exists in our Queensland civil infrastructure business unit for a skilled Road Designer to participate in major infrastructure projects. These include High Speed Motorways and Major Urban Arterials, requiring the delivery of several design stages such as Concept Design and Detailed Design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, plan, resource and complete assigned delivery of the Road Design component within agreed budgets and deadlines.
  • Identify, communicate and optioneer with the team to resolve technical road design issues.
  • Lead a road design project team, including coaching and development of capabilities.
  • Assist Project Manager in determining resources required for a project plan, including elements suitable for outsourcing.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with relevant Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients when necessary, ensuring effective communications on matters relevant to the project.
  • Evaluate compliance with Arcadis design standards and national design standards.
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure integrity of the overall design.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Hold a degree or qualification relevant to Civil Engineering.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in 12D software.
  • Possess knowledge of Austroads Guide to Road Design, as well as experience applying state-based standards.
  • Showcase significant years of experience in project delivery environments with participation in delivering major road infrastructure projects, particularly roads and highways design.
