Equipment Maintenance Specialist

This role requires an experienced tractor and slashing driver/grounds person for a permanent position at RAAF Base Pearce.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining airfield equipment, working with the grounds team, and performing broad-acre slashing duties.

Heavy machinery experience is desirable, and the ability to work autonomously is essential.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Mowing airfields at RAAF Pearce and RAAF Gingin.
  • Maintaining equipment used in the process.
  • Informing supervisors of parts needed for maintenance.
  • Communicating with Air Traffic Control via radio.
  • Operating plant and equipment such as ride-on and push mowers, brush cutters, blowers, edgers, hedgers, spraying equipment, etc.
  • General labour tasks.

Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship.
  • Current HR class driver's license.
  • Plant machinery experience.
  • Industry experience in a similar grounds, parks & gardens or landscaping role.
  • Qualifications in Horticulture or Conservation & Land Management (desirable but not essential).
  • Chemical and Chainsaw certificates (desirable but not essential).
  • Passing a Pre-employment medical including a Drug and Alcohol screen.
  • A great attitude, good work ethic, and ability to complete tasks without supervision.
