About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SMP Supervisor to join our team at Technical Resources. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a critical role in the delivery of structural fabrication and installation, mechanical installations, and piping fabrication and installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Construction Manager in overseeing contractors from contract award through mobilization, execution, and project completion.
  • Ensure that the contractor's schedule aligns with budget constraints while prioritizing safety and quality standards.
  • Proactively handle interfaces and resolve issues, ensuring seamless scope integration into the overall project.
  • Coordinate and facilitate contractor work, ensuring the project is delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Act as the primary client contact for the contractor during the construction of Structural, Mechanical, and Piping installations.
  • Implement the change management process as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with the project team and other internal and external stakeholders at all times.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and technical documentation.
  • Assist in contractor cost estimation and budget management.
Requirements
  • Trade Qualification in Structural, Mechanical or Piping preferred.
  • Driver's License.
  • White Card.
  • 10+ years' experience in project Structural, Mechanical and Piping site execution, either for the Contractor or Owner.
  • Experience in SMP for major capital projects in the renewables, oil & gas and mining preferred.
  • Intermediate skills in the management of specialised packages for a multi-discipline green field project.
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively.
  • Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of MS Office software.
  • Understanding of planning, scheduling and project controls.
  • Strong understanding of project reporting regimes and inputs to weekly and monthly reports.
