  • Plan and design technology project portfolios
  • Provide support to Architecture and Governance to assess business and technical impacts, scope, plan, resource availability and business benefits
  • Ensure that the delivery of initiatives is to appropriate levels of quality, is on time and within budget, in accordance with the portfolio and project plans and governance arrangements

Key Responsibilities
  • Governance:
    • Take responsibility for the delivery of technology projects in accordance with agreed practices
    • Prepare and maintain an up-to-date Portfolio Plan including schedule, dependencies, resources, annual work plan and budget
    • Support the delivery of technology strategy through portfolio, program and project prioritisation
    • Manage risks to the portfolio's successful outcome
    • Encourage and support technology project delivery teams to apply active risk and issue management within the initiatives under their responsibility
    • Analyse potential business and technical risks and conduct impact assessments to assess activities and risks that may impact the ability to achieve a successful portfolio and then individual project completion
    • Define the portfolio's governance arrangements
    • Monitor project delivery exceptions and coach remediation activities
  • Safety:
    • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with policies and procedures ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times
    • Foster the development of a safety culture through active demonstration and encouragement
  • Vendor Management:
    • Manage third-party contributions to the portfolio
    • Assist in facilitating vendor negotiations and establish contracts with third party service providers on behalf of the portfolio
    • Manage Service Provider and Vendor Project Managers in their delivery of Corporate Technology projects
Required Skills and Qualifications

Role Specific:

Excellent understanding of metrics required to demonstrate portfolio and project delivery performance

Excellent knowledge and understanding of IT contracting, procurement, legal and commercial processes and practices and the relationship to vendor management processes and demonstrable experience in delivering complex projects and programmes of work

Core Capabilities:

10+ years of experience in program and project management in a technology environment, experienced in fast-paced, complex, dynamic and multicultural business environment, thorough understanding of or industry qualification in, Project Management Methodology and/or Framework (i.e. P3O / PRINCE2 / PMBOK / Agile) and excellent knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling portfolios of work, excellent knowledge of project budgeting and resource allocation procedures, strong analytical, budgetary and financial management skills, strong customer focus with a demonstrable high level of integrity and an effective team player, highly effective communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the demonstrated ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with staff at all levels, business stakeholders and external service providers to achieve successful outcomes, demonstrable time management and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
