Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned electrical and instrumentation professional to join our team as a Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist. This role requires a proactive individual who is dedicated to delivering exceptional results and working collaboratively with colleagues.

The primary responsibility of this position will be office-based, although occasional on-site work may be required. As a Professional Engineer, you will leverage your extensive experience (10+ years) in electrical and instrumentation engineering to design and develop LV and HV distribution systems, motor control centers, and switchboards. Your expertise should include RPEQ registration, PTW and eTap implementation, PLC and Remote IO control system design, material handling, and process plant instrumentation design.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing LV and HV distribution systems, motor control centers, and switchboards
  • Implementing PTW and eTap processes
  • Developing PLC and Remote IO control systems
  • Designing material handling and process plant instrumentation systems
  • Liaising with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to Verbrec and client standards

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree or equivalent experience/qualifications in Electrical, Instrument, and Control, or Mechatronics
  • Relevant industry experience in the mining, oil, and gas sectors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
