We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager - Merchandise to join our team at PETstock Pty Ltd. As a key member of our Merchandise team, you will play a critical role in delivering customer-focused ranging and promotions to maintain differentiation.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management processes, forecasting, and supplier management. You will be responsible for curating, sourcing, and selecting products in line with our category plan, company vision, and merchandise plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curate and select products in line with category plan, company vision, and merchandise plans
- Coordinate ranges and stories within and across categories
- Execute timely range reviews to deliver improved commercials
- Forward plan, negotiate, and confirm 12-month promotional plans
- Improve supplier delivery performance management in collaboration with the Planning and Supply team
- Negotiate exclusives and first-to-market opportunities, maintaining current trading terms
- Implement category business plans to achieve budgeted KPIs
- Track and analyze category data, providing insights and recommendations
- Manage end-to-end product lifecycle, including product setup and maintenance
- Support stores with timely communication to inform and enable them to execute on time and deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Develop and coach direct reports through performance and development plans, training, and technical skills transfer
About You
- 3+ years' experience in a similar role, with a tertiary qualification desirable but not essential
- Excellent analytical skills to draw insights from customer data and present creative solutions
- Demonstrated understanding of inventory management processes, forecasting, and supplier management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in category management, overseas importing, and product development
