Job Title

Aircraft Programmable Devices Technician: Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for the maintenance, configuration and testing of programmable devices installed on aircraft. The main tasks include:

  • Loading, configuring and testing software into programmable boxes.
  • Testing of unserviceable LRU's.
  • Fault finding, repair and certification of unserviceable LRU's during bench level maintenance.
  • Liaison with 37Sqn Maintenance to investigate singular aircraft fitted LRU or programmable box issues.
  • Conducting and assisting 37Sqn with on-aircraft troubleshooting of system LRU's or programmable boxes.

The role requires excellent communication and relationship skills, ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, meet tight deadlines and be comfortable in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Completion of a diploma or graduate degree in a related IT discipline.
  • 2+ years' experience with IT programmable device software installation, configuration and optimisation.
  • Experience with configuring electronic switches and routers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and customers.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet strict deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant Information Technology legislation, regulations, standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
