Job Title: Senior Full Stack Java Developer

Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Java Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying complex software systems using Java technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage agile teams of software engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Make technical decisions that impact the direction of projects and provide thought leadership in programming and software development.
  • Collaborate with architects to ensure the best possible solution and design in alignment with best practices and standards.
  • Act as a key point of escalation for technical issues and prepare reports as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including detailed design documents.
  • Mentor less experienced developers and ensure tasks are undertaken at the appropriate level of quality.
Requirements:
  • Significant expertise in Java technologies, including Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, JPA, JMS, and other Java libraries and frameworks.
  • Experience with web technologies, including JavaScript (ES2016+), NodeJS, and browser APIs.
  • Knowledge of the 12 factor principles of microservice development.
  • Expertise in designing well-formed RESTful APIs and using multiple frameworks/libraries to build SPAs.
  • Substantial experience with Java build automation technologies, such as Gradle and Maven.
  • Experience with relational databases, data modeling, and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms, IaaS, and IDEs, such as IntelliJ and WebStorm.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a consulting position, working within large, complex, and distributed client environments.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and expectations in relation to programming and software development.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively report and manage or escalate risk(s), issue(s), and defects.
