Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and self-sufficient IT Support Field Engineer to join our team in Newcastle. As a field-based role, you will provide onsite support directly at client locations, working with hardware diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, installations, and general IT troubleshooting.

About the Role
  • Provide onsite diagnosis, repair, installation, and upgrades of IT hardware.
  • Solve technical issues with POS and general IT systems, including PCs, servers, routers, and switches.
  • Manage stock from warehouse locations and update job status, part usage, and closure notes after each site visit.
  • Offer afterhours support and participate in overnight jobs as required.
  • Travel throughout Newcastle and nearby regions to meet client service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Detailed understanding of IT hardware, including installation, upgrade, and repair procedures.
  • Familiarity with retail IT systems, POS devices, and network hardware.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills, with ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Able to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in field-based IT support or hardware repairs.
  • Current Australian driver's license (mandatory).
  • Able to work flexible hours, including afterhours and occasional overnight shifts.
