Electrical Maintenance Technician

About the Role

This exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our afternoon shift team (3pm - 11pm) at our Thomastown site.

  • Maintain equipment condition and reliability to ensure company safety, production, and quality targets are met.
  • Provide technical support to the Maintenance and Production teams.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime, including routine planned shutdowns.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and codes.
  • Assist with breakdowns and conduct troubleshooting analysis as required.
  • Excellent PLC knowledge and understanding for equipment troubleshooting.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with powered drives, AGVs, and robotics.
  • Reading and understanding of electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Experience working with converting-type production lines in a FMCG environment.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with industrial instrumentation and control systems.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Electrical A-grade License (required).
  • Experience working as an electrician in a FMCG manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in safe working practices and isolation processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic.
  • Quick learner with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to implement cost optimization strategies within spare parts management.
  • A team player with effective communication (verbal & written) skills.
  • Computer literacy – experience with Microsoft Office programs and other databases.
