Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with other departments.
- Act as a key support for the Chief Financial Officer during periods of leave, ensuring continuity of financial operations.
- Prepare end-of-month financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage the month-end close and reconciliation process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Address and resolve any conflicts or issues within the team promptly, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and with other departments, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
- Support the business in achieving its key financial and operational goals, through the development and implementation of financial strategies and plans.
- Assist with preparing the company's annual budgets, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
- Strong understanding of job costing processes, with the ability to analyze and optimize financial performance.
- Competent and confident with payroll, accounts payable and receivable, with the ability to manage and reconcile financial transactions.
- High understanding of the operation of different awards, including SCHADS, Aged Care, Nursing, Education, and Health Professionals awards.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with staff at all levels and work effectively in a team environment.
- High level organisational, administrative and project management skills, including the ability to set priorities against competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in MYOB and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision, with a high level of autonomy and independence.
- Proactive and solution-oriented, with a 'can-do' approach and a willingness to take on new challenges.
- CPA, CA, or ACCA qualification.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Commerce.
- Proven experience in a similar Finance role, with a strong understanding of financial processes and procedures.
- Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'.
