Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Management/Governance Officer to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to drive impactful data governance initiatives within our organisation.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a solid background in data governance, agile project management, and policy analysis. They will be responsible for delivering high-quality data governance to support projects and data stewards in applying data governance frameworks and policies.

This includes registering and managing data asset and data exchange records, maintaining and managing customer information control plans and data stewardship registers, overseeing the implementation of the Indigenous Data governance plan, identifying and managing data-related risks, and developing and implementing data governance documents to improve best practices.

The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in data management and governance, strong skills in agile project management and policy analysis, excellent policy interpretation and writing skills, and the ability to work under limited direction and handle competing priorities effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Data Governance Delivery: Deliver high-quality data governance to support projects and data stewards in applying data governance frameworks and policies.
  • Data Asset Management: Register and manage data asset and data exchange records.
  • Customer Information Control: Maintain and manage customer information control plans and data stewardship registers.
  • Indigenous Data Governance: Oversee the implementation of the Indigenous Data governance plan.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage data-related risks, including trust and ethics assessments of data initiatives.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement data governance documents to improve best practices.
About You
  • Bring a wealth of experience in data management and governance.
  • Have strong skills in agile project management and policy analysis.
  • Excellent policy interpretation and writing skills.
  • Able to work under limited direction and handle competing priorities effectively.

Please note that this role requires an Australian citizen due to working with a federal government client.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
