Economist and Financial Governance Expert

We are seeking an experienced Business Improvement Specialist to join our team. This role will be based in Melbourne and is a 12-month opportunity with an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage concurrent projects and programs of work, ensuring that they meet business requirements, Group/Program plans and Commonwealth mandated outcomes.
- Manage and lead diverse specialized finance teams with different deliverables and outcomes in project and business as usual settings, ensuring timelines are met.
- Ensure effective financial management plans and strategies are in place, directing the development of effective Finance Operations services to support internal customers and suppliers in line with Commonwealth mandated rules.
- Provide strategic and analytical advice to stakeholders regarding the management of financial resources.
- Develop, document and present opportunities which introduce system and process improvements, ensuring compliance with public sector legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks relating to financial management.
- Provide specialist advice and service support to internal and external stakeholders including regular briefings and meetings on all aspects of financial management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Accounting, with CPA, CA or CIMA qualification.
- Experience in using and working with SAP ERP. SAP Concur experience preferred.
- Able to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) and develop relationships and effectively communicate accounting and data governance concepts to finance/non-finance staff.
- Experience leading diverse operational teams, be able to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Additional Information:
This role requires Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance. Applicants may also be required to provide evidence of their COVID-19 vaccination status.
