Enterprise Data Consultant Role

At the core of our professional services team lies a vital mission: to empower clients through Alation technology, ensuring seamless data management and unwavering customer satisfaction. We seek a highly skilled consultant with extensive experience in data governance, software deployment, and meticulous attention to detail.

As one of the most seasoned members of our team, this Staff Consultant boasts an unparalleled depth of knowledge in implementing Alation software at the enterprise level. Their expertise encompasses:

  • Strategic leadership in guiding Alation implementations for key clients
  • Active participation in account knowledge transfer sessions with Alation pre-sales teams
  • Expert advisory services on best practices for defining data classifications, domains, taxonomies, glossaries, documentation content, and lineage
  • Provision of comprehensive training and guidance on leveraging key product features, as well as optimal approaches to drive usage, adoption, and value
  • Hands-on assistance with on-premise and cloud-based product installation procedures
  • Effective configuration of single sign-on, authentication to LDAP or Active Directory
  • Optimization of out-of-the-box database, file system, and Business Intelligence tool connectors
  • Regular project status reports and briefings
  • Identification of opportunities for account expansion
  • Documentation of lessons learned, tips/tricks, and contributions to the knowledge base
  • Engagement in customer community forums
Requirements

Desired Skills
  • A minimum of 5+ years of consulting experience in a lead role
  • Extensive experience in data management, specifically in data governance, data quality, master data management, and/or reference data
  • Technical proficiency with Azure, AWS, and GCP cloud deployments
  • Experience with multiple databases and excellent SQL skills
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools, including Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, and Microstrategy
  • Hands-on experience administering Linux operating systems
  • Technical expertise in Kubernetes and Docker deployments
  • Programming skills in Python or Java, particularly in utilizing REST APIs
  • Previous experience with Alation or other data catalog tools
  • Project Management/Scrum certifications (CAPM, PMP, Six Sigma etc)
  • Practical experience in data & analytics
  • Multilingualism
