Professional Long Haul Driver

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Long Haul Driver to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods across various locations while adhering to traffic regulations.
  • A critical aspect of this role is ensuring the vehicle's safety and maintenance, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Effective communication with dispatchers and other team members is vital in maintaining smooth operations.
  • In addition, adherence to company policies and procedures regarding safety and compliance is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a multi-combination truck safely and efficiently.
  • Transport goods to various locations while adhering to traffic regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate logs of hours worked and distance travelled.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members.
  • Report any vehicle defects or incidents to management immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with the Australian National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) standards.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the organization.

Skill Requirements:

  • A current Multi Combination (MC) driver's license.
  • Induction into the Break Fatigue Management (BFM) System.
  • Prior experience driving trucks in a professional capacity.
  • A strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Ability to work away from home for interstate runs.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
