Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and oversee vessel maintenance in line with planned schedules and ensure equipment remains in top condition.
  • Supervise and support personnel involved in engineering tasks, ensuring efficient and safe work practices.
  • Operate winches and other machinery during operations, providing assistance to Deckhands as needed for smooth and safe activities.
  • Prepare maintenance and operational reports, and report defects promptly to management.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance, ISM procedures, and environmental regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum Engineer Class 3 Certificate of Competency (or equivalent).
  • Statements of Attainment in Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) and CPR (HLTAID001).
  • A current AMSA Medical and a valid MSIC (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, coupled with efficient fault-finding skills to address challenges effectively.
  • Effective communication through verbal and written channels, ensuring clear and concise information is conveyed.
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to foster strong working relationships within a team environment.
