Job Title: Commercial Financial Lead

  • The role of a Commercial Financial Lead is to manage and oversee the financial aspects of commercial construction operations.
  • This includes responsibility for all financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Additionally, the Commercial Financial Lead will be responsible for managing a small team of finance professionals and developing a close working relationship with the construction managers and estimating team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

">
  • A University degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Certified Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) membership.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role and industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to explain variances.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and other MS Office skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage ongoing 3-way forecasts to update monthly business units / segment rolling annual and long-term forecasts.
  2. Review & analysis of monthly P&L, balance sheet and cashflow movements against budget and reforecast.
  3. Prepare and present financial information to senior management as part of monthly management meetings.
  4. Assist operational team with tender submission requirements and Assist project managers in analysing job variances and future improvements.

Main Tasks:

  • Preparation of weekly cash forecasts (8 week).
  • Approval of weekly AP payments ensuring key suppliers are being paid within payment terms.

Additional Information:

">
  • Review of monthly GST reporting to ensure accurate inclusion in the monthly Group BAS return.
  • Assistance with tax queries from tax manager to help facilitate group bi-annual tax effect accounting schedules.
