Post Office Counter Officer Job Description

As a Post Office Counter Officer, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment, providing exceptional customer service and handling various transactions. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding results and building strong relationships with customers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work casual shifts of 10-15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at a local post office branch.
  • Provide customer service and respond to front counter requests, handling cash, cheques, credit cards, and EFTPOS transactions.
  • Perform customer sales and service transactions with customers, ensuring that their needs are met promptly and efficiently.
  • Assist customers with mail lodgements and associated costs, providing expert advice and guidance when required.
  • Conduct and process identity services transactions while maintaining confidentiality of post office customers, adhering to strict protocols and procedures.
  • Promote retail products and services through up-selling and cross-selling, merchandising, and other promotional activities, driving business growth and revenue.
  • Build rewarding relationships with customers by understanding their needs and preferences, delivering personalized solutions and experiences.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance, notify the manager when post office stationery stock is low, ensuring seamless operations and efficiency.
  • Other duties as requested by the Manager.
