Electrical Apprenticeship Opportunity

We are offering a rewarding Electrical Apprenticeship opportunity at our Moranbah North Mine, commencing in January 2026. This is an exciting chance to kick-start your hands-on career working with cutting-edge machinery and mining equipment, while being part of a team committed to your training and development.

This apprenticeship will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to install, test, and repair electrical systems and equipment. You will have the opportunity to work alongside qualified electricians and gain industry-specific experience.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety and teamwork. Additionally, you must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen.

Requirements
  • Must be currently enrolled in year 11 at Moranbah State High School, entering into year 12 at the beginning of 2026.
  • A strong interest in Electrical work.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen.
  • Sound results in Maths (Mathematical Methods or Specialist Maths is preferred), English, and Physics are highly desirable.
  • Certificate II in Electrotechnology would be highly regarded but not essential.
  • Be available to attend a face-to-face interview on a designated date.
Becoming an MRAEL Apprentice

As an MRAEL apprentice, you will be appointed an Apprentice and Employment Consultant who will guide you through your trade. This consultant will provide consistent mentoring, support, and performance management throughout your apprenticeship, ensuring every aspect of your training experience is rewarding and professional.

The recruitment process will include pre-apprenticeship aptitude testing. It is essential to complete all details as requested above to ensure your application is considered.
