We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cafe Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of Cafe Agape, a community-focused cafe that serves as a hub for social and economic development. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the cafe, including the supervision of Work for the Dole participants in training and skills-based activities around hospitality.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing a commercial venue, including compliance with food safety regulations and relevant local laws. You will also be responsible for preparing and supervising the preparation, presentation, packaging, serving, and sale/distribution of food and associated items.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the work of cafe staff and volunteers, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Develop and implement effective training programs for new staff and volunteers, focusing on hospitality and food safety skills.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, ensuring that all food is prepared and served in accordance with relevant regulations.
- Manage cafe inventory, including ordering and stocking of supplies, and maintaining accurate records of sales and inventory.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty, including menu development and promotions.
- Significant demonstrated experience operating a commercial venue, including compliance with food safety regulations and relevant local laws.
- Proven track record of managing a team, including training and development of staff and volunteers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices, including HACCP and food handling procedures.
