The primary function of the Housing/Shelter Support Worker is to provide comprehensive support services to residents and shelter users.
">Assist in the development and delivery of resident support plans, working collaboratively with team leads and support teams as needed.
Establish trusting relationships with residents through effective communication and empathy.
Conduct wellness checks, perform room inspections, and clean rooms when necessary, adhering to safety protocols.
Distribute essential supplies, meals, and personal items to residents, promoting a sense of community and well-being.
Participate in daily activities, such as room cleans, laundry duties, and maintenance tasks, to maintain a safe and organized living environment.
Collaborate with team members to develop and implement short-term intervention plans, addressing specific issues and needs.
Evaluate the effectiveness of these plans, reporting progress to supervisors and discussing concerns to resolve identified problems.
Provide individualized counseling sessions using active listening, conflict resolution, and basic psycho-educational methods to address clients' needs.
Maintain accurate records, including electronic log notes, and submit reports to supervisors as required.
