Job Title

Seeking a Skilled Hospital Aide to join our team in the Close Observation Unit at Mersey Community Hospital.

The Close Observation Unit is a 6 bed Level 2 COU providing critical care and high acuity services to the North West region of Tasmania. The unit fosters a strong staff culture built on teamwork and a commitment to exceptional patient care, upholding the organization's core values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prioritise daily workload to ensure readiness of beds and bed space for new admissions.
  • Maintain ward stock on a daily basis to ensure smooth running of ward area in accordance with existing procedures.
  • Follow cleaning standards, infection control standards, policies and protocols in accordance with hospital requirements.
  • Report unsafe practices or acts that may endanger occupants/visitors to the hospital.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Champion a child safe culture that upholds the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.

Requirements:

  • Able to work as part of a team to provide high quality patient care.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with infection control and cleaning standards.
  • Ability to report unsafe practices or acts.

Working Arrangements:

  • This is a permanent, part-time position working up to 36 hours per fortnight.
  • Competitive remuneration package including holidays, leave and superannuation in accordance with the Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022.
