About the Job:

This exciting opportunity involves collaborating closely with engineering and compliance teams to ensure all submissions meet required documentation standards. Your expertise will be utilized to provide input on project design, assess preliminary specifications and drawings, and prepare accurate Bills of Quantities and cost plans.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Optimize Cost-Effectiveness: Provide input on project design to minimize costs during the design phase.
  2. Preliminary Assessments: Assess preliminary specifications and drawings to determine project scope.
  3. Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and service requirements.
  4. Tender Preparation: Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities and cost plans.
  5. Subcontractor Management: Distribute tender packages to approved subcontractors, suppliers, and trades.
  6. Submission Reviews: Conduct thorough reviews of subcontractor pricing and submissions.
  7. Tender Submissions: Prepare tender submissions alongside the Project Manager.
  8. Project Scoping: Develop project scopes (up to $3M) in collaboration with the Project Manager and clients.
  9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with architects, consultants, councils, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  10. Innovation: Stay updated on innovative design and construction techniques to deliver optimal client solutions.
  11. Commercial Assessments: Conduct commercial, risk, and profitability assessments.

You Will Thrive in This Role If:

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in structural steel and sheet steel estimating within the manufacturing/fabrication industry.
  • You possess a strong understanding of welded products and engineering processes related to steel fabrication.
  • You are proficient in interpreting engineering/architectural drawings and defining scopes of work.
  • You have expertise in developing complex quoting tools tailored to business needs.
  • You are self-motivated, proactive, and deadline-driven with excellent specification interpretation skills.
  • You have proven experience in tender and quote preparation.
  • You possess strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • You have exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Competitive Salary Package:

The estimated salary for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus additional benefits.
