About the Role

The YMCA Brisbane is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Childcare Program Coordinator to join our team at YMCA Grovely Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service.

As a Childcare Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the service and the management of a team of Educators. You will receive support from a dedicated management team, consisting of your fellow Coordinators, Senior Coordinator, Area Coordinator, Regional Manager and the OSHC Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality programs that meet the needs of children and families
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the programs, including staffing and rostering
  • Ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements
  • Undertake administrative requirements, including record-keeping and reporting
  • Work collaboratively with families and the school community to provide a high-quality service

Requirements

  • Completed (or close to completing) a relevant qualification in Childcare or Teaching (minimum - Diploma of Children's Services)
  • Sound experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certifications, or the willingness to obtain them
  • Current Blue Card, or the willingness to obtain one

YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services care for children before school, after school and during holidays across 50+ school sites throughout South East Queensland. We are the fastest growing OSHC provider in the South East, which in turn provides our staff with the ability to grow and move through the company as their careers head to the next level.

About Your Workplace

YMCA Grovely Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is situated at Grovely State Primary School, licenced for 70 children and offer Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care between 6.30am- 6pm.

We strive to plan and implement a program that supports children's well-being, development and learning. We offer a range of areas for the children to learn in, including Imagination Station, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Music & movement, Group learning, Spontaneous play, indoor play, outdoor play, loose parts play and more.

All program ideas come from you, the parent/guardian, the child, the community, the educator and the school. We get these ideas through our observations, evaluation, suggestions and teachable moments.

Our program plans and activities are aligned with the YMCA mission statement, YMCA Philosophy and our own service philosophy as well with the National Quality Framework 'My Time Our Place' educational principles to develop appropriate and engaging activities for children in our care.
