Job Opportunity

About the Role

This key position requires a seasoned environmental professional to oversee environmental systems, compliance, and monitoring programs. The Senior Environmental Specialist will play a pivotal role in maintaining our Environmental Management System, ensuring regulatory adherence, and supporting broader site sustainability initiatives.

  • Maintain and improve site Environmental Management System plans and procedures.
  • Deliver inductions and training on environmental awareness and responsibilities.
  • Identify and manage environmental risks and ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate and report on statutory obligations.
  • Conduct site inspections, internal audits, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage clearance activities and disturbance planning.
  • Oversee monitoring programs for groundwater, surface water, waste, dust, and noise.
  • Lead incident reporting and investigation for environmental events.
  • Supervise environmental contractors and consultants, and mentor the Environmental Technician.
  • Contribute to mine closure planning and progressive rehabilitation.
  • Support community engagement activities on environmental topics.
  • Maintain site environmental tools, equipment, and consumables.
Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline, with minimum 5 years' experience in a similar environmental role within the mining or resources sector. Strong knowledge of WA mining and environmental legislation is essential, along with proficiency in GIS software and Microsoft Office suite.
