Position Overview: Junior Merchandise Planner

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic Production & Buying team as a Junior Merchandise Planner.

Role Summary:

The Junior Merchandise Planner will be instrumental in assisting with the purchasing and forecasting processes for our Essentials product line and key wholesale partners. This position will work closely with the Merchandise Planner and various teams to enhance inventory management, accurately predict market trends, and ensure product assortments meet the expectations of our customers and wholesale clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the selection and procurement of the Essentials product line, ensuring alignment with brand values and consumer preferences.
• Collaborate with the Merchandise Planner to create and implement buying strategies that drive sales and enhance profitability.
• Analyze sales data to monitor performance, adjusting inventory and purchasing strategies to achieve business goals.
• Forecast demand for large wholesale accounts, ensuring sufficient stock levels to satisfy customer requirements.
• Work in partnership with Sales and Planning teams to deliver precise sales forecasts and inventory insights.
• Evaluate wholesale sales trends to inform future purchasing decisions and identify growth opportunities.
• Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with the planning team to manage stock replenishment effectively.
• Identify and rectify inventory discrepancies, striving to minimize stockouts and excess inventory situations.
• Contribute to the formulation and execution of markdown and promotional initiatives.
• Maintain optimal stock levels and forecast inventory needs while adhering to budget constraints.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely product delivery and favorable contract terms.
• Generate and maintain comprehensive reports on sales performance, inventory status, and other essential metrics.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in an administrative capacity within a retail environment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience in vendor contract negotiations is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset.
• Results-driven and proactive.
