About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Merchandise Planner to join our Production & Buy team at Lorna Jane's Brisbane Head Office.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the buying and forecasting for our Essentials product line and large wholesale accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Sourcing and Purchasing: Assist in the selection and purchasing of the Essentials product line, ensuring alignment with brand standards and customer preferences.
  • Buying Strategies: Collaborate with the Merchandise Planner to develop and execute buying strategies that maximize sales and profitability.
  • Sales Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyse sales performance, adjusting buys and inventory levels as needed to meet business objectives.
  • Wholesale Forecasting: Forecast product demand for large wholesale accounts, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet customer needs.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and work with the planning team to manage stock replenishment and allocations.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and work to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Markdown and Promotional Strategies: Participate in the development and execution of markdown and promotional strategies.
  • Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of products and negotiating favourable terms.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and maintain reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics.
Requirements
  • Administrative Experience: Experience in an administrative role in a retail business.
  • Communication and Negotiation Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Microsoft Excel Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills.
  • Vendor Contract Negotiation: Experience with vendor contract negotiations is highly desirable.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail orientated.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong analytical ability.
