Job Description

As a Support Engineer at Cuscal, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, and maintenance of our mission-critical systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operational Lifecycle Management: Take ownership of the operational lifecycle, including incident, change, and problem management.
  • System Monitoring and Incident Response: Proactively monitor systems, respond swiftly to incidents, and work to resolve underlying problems to prevent future occurrences.
  • On-Call Support: Provide 24 x 7 rostered on-call support where required by management.
  • Operational Design and Process: Provide expertise and input into operational design and process.
  • User Access and Service Requests: Ensure appropriate user access and service requests actioned to agreed standards.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain and update documentation related to configuration, processes, and best practices.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in Support Engineering: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Support Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Powershell, Bash) for process automation.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Communication and Collaboration Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills.

While experience in the following areas is highly regarded:

  • SSL/TLS Certificate Management: Strong understanding and knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate management.
  • Agile Methodologies and DevOps: Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in DevOps environments.
  • Financial Systems and Regulations: Familiarity with financial systems, processes, and regulations.
  • CI/CD Tools and Pipelines: Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Bamboo, BitBucket, GitHub).
  • Performance and Security Principles: Understanding of performance and security principles.
  • Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Codeless Automation Tools: Knowledge of working with codeless automation tools.
