Senior Medical Specialist

As a Consultant Geriatrician, you will have the opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team and provide clinical leadership in the care of older adults. Our department is at the forefront of geriatric medicine, focusing on patient-centred care and innovative services.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead ward rounds on our virtual ward, supported by a Staff Grade doctor or SpR.
- Provide clinical leadership to the ward team, making key decisions to enhance patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Emergency Department as part of the FIT team, conducting frailty assessments of patients at the front door.
- Cover 2 sessions per week in FAB/front door, while also being available for advice or to book same/next day patients into FAB.
- Specialist registration on the GMC register for Geriatrics or within six months of completing CCT (or eligible for entry within 6 months of application).
- MRCP or equivalent medical qualification.
- Evidence of working effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Able to organise and prioritise complex demands, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Skilled in providing expert clinical opinion on a full range of acute medical emergencies, rehabilitation, and intermediate care.
