Support Young People Leaving Detention

Create positive futures for youth and families in leadership, mentoring and support roles.

Key Highlights:
  • Team Leader – People & Culture: Lead the team to achieve goals.
  • Family Support Practitioners: Offer emotional support to families of young people leaving detention.
  • Youth Mentors: Mentor young people post-release across home, school and community settings.

The program focuses on wraparound support for education, training, employment, cultural identity and resilience.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervision, rostering, leadership, compliance and staff well-being management.
  • Family engagement, emotional support and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Mentoring, outreach, coaching, transport and appointments.

Regional travel is required. Collaboration with other roles is essential to achieve program goals.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related field.
  • 4+ years' experience in leadership, supervision and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally safe practice principles.
