Job Overview:
A key role in our organization is that of the Security Operations Centre (SOC) Analyst. This position plays a critical part in safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategically manage and maintain the security stack to align with security policies and governance standards.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of our technology environment and apply recommendations from reputable security frameworks such as the ACSC Information Security Manual and Victorian Protective Data Security Framework.
- Drive improvements to our IT infrastructure security posture, incorporating identity security enhancements, next-generation firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protection solutions like EDR and MDR, and SIEM systems to address evolving cybersecurity threats.
- Collaborate with the Cyber Security Officer, Manager Digital Services, and Director Information and Digital Services to develop and implement network security standards and a comprehensive cybersecurity program.
- Utilize SIEM systems to analyze network and security events, identifying trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement in network performance, security posture, and operational efficiency.
Our ideal candidate has 3-4 years of experience in SOC analysis or cybersecurity roles, preferably from a Systems/Network Administration background. They will have demonstrated expertise in Microsoft 365 security tools, including Entra, Defender, Purview, and Microsoft Sentinel, as well as experience with Endpoint Detection and Response solutions, threat hunting, and indicator of compromise identification. A proven track record of applying and maintaining governance and compliance, particularly within ISM and VPDSF guidelines, is essential.
