Davidson Technology is partnering with a leading Australian financial organization to identify a skilled Data Architect.

This role requires a seasoned technologist with experience in designing and implementing modern, service-oriented architectures, including event-driven systems and API-enabled core applications.

About the Role

In this position, you will work closely with the executive team of Financial Crime and collaborate with other Heads of Technology to deliver cutting-edge technology solutions and system capabilities across the financial crime space.

You will champion initiatives in the Financial Crime technology domain, ensuring adherence to all relevant compliances and regulatory requirements.

To succeed in this role, you must have strong expertise in software and data engineering, utilizing technologies such as Java, Python, Neo4J, and Spark. This position involves hands-on work with code, implementing best practices for implementations, and influencing a wider team of up to 400 engineers.

This role has no direct reports but will be a technology leader in the space.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and building high-performance teams to deliver services to customers and colleagues in line with service level expectations.
  • Influencing and managing relationships with senior stakeholders across the Enterprise and regulators in the industry.
  • Running and uplifting existing services while delivering strategic Financial Crime Change Program objectives, aligned and reused across the Enterprise where appropriate.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of service maturity through API and service enablement, cloud service offerings, open-source capability, workforce talent attraction, and retention.
  • Implementing and guiding others to adhere to best practice standards.
  • Problem-solving at a complex level, working hands-on with Code and implementation.

About You

  • Years of experience in similar roles within major financial or banking organizations.
  • Seasoned technologists with expertise in delivery outcomes, cutting-edge technologies, and achieving the best outcomes for the domain and customers.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering modern, service-oriented, cloud-native architectures, including event-driven architectures and API enabling core applications.
  • Effective engagement with senior stakeholders to deliver transformational change across business, operations, and technology.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Financial Crime systems, obligations, and control environments.
  • A customer-centric mindset.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Experience with technologies such as Java, Python, Spark, and Neo4J.

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on location and industry standards.
