Senior Solicitor Leadership Role

The Senior Solicitor will oversee the day-to-day operation of our legal team, providing high-quality legal advice and leading complex casework.

  • Provide authoritative legal guidance and lead strategic casework initiatives.
  • Mentor and supervise junior solicitors, utilizing case studies to foster professional growth.
  • Oversee operational management, including casework approvals, advice reviews, KPI tracking, and workload optimization.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities, ensuring compliance and managing risks.
  • Represent the organization at stakeholder forums, promoting a positive image.
  • Develop and implement law reform and community engagement strategies that align with our vision and values.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional legal expertise and lead critical casework projects.
  • Mentor and develop junior solicitors, leveraging real-world experiences for skill development.
  • Manage operational efficiency, overseeing casework approvals, advice reviews, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and mitigate potential risks.
  • Lead outreach initiatives, fostering partnerships and promoting our mission.
Person Specification:
  • Hold an active Practising Certificate.
  • Have extensive post-admission experience, including senior leadership roles (preferably 5+ years).
  • Be eligible for Blue and Yellow Card clearance (mandatory criminal history screening).
  • Demonstrate proven ability to mentor, develop, and manage legal staff and volunteers.
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adopt a collaborative, adaptable leadership style.
  • Ability to travel within the region as required to support regional offices and outreach clinics.
